Make us preferred on Google What to know : The Ethereum Foundation has released a long-term β€œstrawmap” roadmap outlining seven hard forks through 2029 aimed at overhauling the network. The plan targets faster base-layer performance, including cutting transaction finality from about 16 minutes to potentially 8 seconds via a new Minimmit consensus and shorter block slot times. Ethereum’s roadmap also prioritizes massive throughput gains for L1 and L2, post-quantum cryptography, and privacy features such as shielded ETH transfers, even as market sentiment toward ether remains subdued. Ethereum Foundation just published a roadmap that reads like it's building for the next decade, not surviving the current quarter. The document, called the "strawmap" and released Wednesday by EF researcher Justin Drake, lays out a plan for seven hard forks through 2029.
